Modern Country

A trio of multi-stem, semi-mature 'Winter Gold' crab apple trees exudes an air of relaxed formality central to the planting scheme in the front garden of this substantial Edwardian property.   A profusion of spring blossom, glowing autumn colouring of the leaves and butter yellow fruit that are carried into winter provide year-round interest.

A restrained, predominantly green palette has been used in the remainder of the planting which is gradually maturing.

Contemporary Family

Bold, repeating swathes of perennials and grasses fill the borders surrounding the terraces and natural swimming pond of a new-build family home with far-reaching views to the Ashdown Forest.

The design enhances the joy of indoor-outdoor living among carefully chosen plants and promotes the sense of proximity to nature as it hums with pollinators and foraging wildlife.

Country Inn

Existing plants and materials have been re-used wherever possible in the extensive gardens and courtyards of this cherished local inn nestled at the foot of the North Downs, extending the scope of the budget while retaining the lived-in feel of the outdoor spaces.

The additional new planting of gently swaying perennials and grasses celebrates the countryside setting and softens the surrounding buildings and hard surfaces.

Village Sanctuary

An ongoing project to refurbish and update a modestly sized family garden to include several outdoor entertaining spaces whilst simultaneously providing a corridor of shelter and sustenance for pollinating insects and other visiting wildlife, creating a sanctuary for all.

Plans include a dining terrace with pizza oven, relaxation area with firepit, garden office, bocce court, vegetable patch, rainwater capture, mini meadow, wildlife pond, log stacks and hedging.
